UPDATE: The bodies of the missing trio were found and identified
We have received confirmation that the lifeless bodies of three men were found at the bottom of a 15 meter deep well located more than 30 kilometers distance from the Valle de Santo Tomás highway in a remote area.
Access to the exact location of the well, adjacent to an abandoned house near the beach in the La Bocana area of Santo Tomás is difficult, requiring considerable time and effort to reach and extract the bodies from the deep well..
During the recovery operation, a fourth body was also discovered.
Authorities at the site were able to provide a preliminary identification of three of the bodies found as the missing surfers. However, the identity of the fourth body is unknown and could be a victim from a previous crime, disposed of at the same well.
Upon extraction, all four bodies were taken for formal identification and forensic examination to the coroner’s office in Ensenada.
The investigation is ongoing and charges of murder are expected to be filed next week.
ENSENADA – Australian brothers Jake and Callum Robinson along with their American friend Jack Carter Rhoad were reported missing by the brothers family back in Perth.
Family members have said the group had been surfing at K38, a well-known surf break south of Rosarito Beach, but failed to check into an Airbnb rental on Sunday that they had previously booked.

The brothers are both avid surfers and made a surfing trip south across the Mexican border last week with another friend, Jack Carter Rhoad, traveling in a white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck.
The families last contact with the missing surfers was on on Saturday, April 27 and the three young men were last seen the next day, Sunday the 28th, in the area of La Bocana, a 90 minute drive south of Ensenada.
A wide search was conducted by the authorities as well as friends of the missing surfers, all around the area of La Bocana de Santo Tomás including areas further south, focusing on an area near the lighthouse at Punta San José, a popular surf break located 150 kilometers south of Ensenada.
During the search, officers found a tent belonging to the missing surfers and inside they discovered evidence of a struggle with blood stains inside the tent.
3 People Arrested
During two different police operations on Wednesday May 1, three people have been arrested in connection with their disappearance, including a 23-year-old Mexican woman who reportedly was discovered in possession of a mobile phone belonging to one of the missing surfers.
A few hours later, two men were also arrested as part of the investigation, said Baja California’s chief public prosecutor Maria Elena Andrade Ramirez. Police were able to connect the two men to the woman arrested earlier and make the arrests after one of the brothers’ mobile phones was turned back on, pinging a local mobile cellular tower.
The names of those who have been arrested are: Jesús Gerardo Garica Cota, alias El Kekas, his girlfriend Ari Gisel GarcÃa Cota, (who was found carrying the cell phone of one of the missing surfers) and Cristian Alejandro GarcÃa, brother of Kekas.
All three were in possession of an assortment of methamphetamines and other illegal drugs at the time of their arrest.

Chilling last post on Instagram
Callum’s last social media posts, uploaded to his Instagram story, give insight into the group’s last known whereabouts in the area.
Several images shows them in Rosarito Beach, where they were believed to be surfing and camping. The group reportedly planned on moving on to Ensenada, with the last image posted to Callum’s Instagram shows they were in San Miguel beach in Ensenada.
One picture shows a white Chevrolet Colorado pickup truck at the beach ion Rosarito, believed to be the same vehicle was later found burnt-out in the Santo Tomás area after the ranch manager called 911 on Thursday.
‘… and it begins,’ Callum wrote on the image of the pickup truck at the beach, alongside an emoji of the Mexican flag. Callum also shared images of Jake and Rhoad and of the sights they were exploring.
Foreign Pressure on Investigation
Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has also expressed concern about the brothers’ wellbeing.

‘Their mother is obviously very distressed about this. And we just hope for a positive outcome.’
In 2015, two Australian surfers, Adam Coleman and Dean Lucas, were killed in western Sinaloa state, across the Gulf of California — also known as the Sea of Cortez— from the Baja peninsula. Authorities say they were victims of highway bandits. Three suspects were arrested in that case.
