Three weekend events are scheduled for the upcoming months of July, August and September.
July 12-14, 2024
August 16-18, 2024
September 13-15, 2024
The Venue
This area has been called Baja’s Iconic Seafood Village and nearby you will find several family owned and operated outdoor restaurants, all offering you the very best in tasty seafood delights, and all fresh from the sea!

These events will be a lot of fun and due to the eco-sensitive environment of this off-grid venue, each weekend of camping will be limited to a relatively small number of participants of no more than 50 people that will also include a local families, helping to create what will be really a memorable, multi-cultural experience in an incredibly scenic venue.
Participants can choose from a couple of paid rustic campgrounds here (if you prefer to camp with others) or select from countless nearby spots along our rugged coastline where you can choose your favorite spot by yourself and are still within a few minutes’ drive of the group.

Here are your 3 camping options for this event:
Barra de Piedra
This camping area will serve as our event base camp and is for tent camping only. Barra de Piedra offers amazingly fresh and tasty seafood and their campground fronts the amazing San Quintin Bay wetlands.
It’s a short walk or quick bike ride to the beach from your campsite and they have onsite bathrooms for their guests. If you bring your kayaks, you can launch from down below where you will be camping and explore the beauty and wonders of the San Quintin Bay with the Bahia Falsa oyster farmer in the background.

Campo Don Alvaro
If you are driving camper, van or RV you can choose to stay the weekend at Campo Don Alvaro where you have a couple of different seafood options nearby as well as close access to the sandy beach below. The campground is off-grid and so they will be no hookups but the spaces give you ample room to park with fire pits included as well as bathrooms onsite.

Wild Camping
For those of you who prefer to choose your own campsite away from other campers but would still like to participate in the weekend activities, food and fellowship, La Chorera offers numerous wild camping options along the coastline and bay.
Feel free to contact me via facebook or the website contact form with any questions or help in choosing the site that works best for you.

We are planning several activities each weekend for our campers to enjoy. Here are just a few…
Hiking
With the mazing topography that includes a backdrop of ancient volcanoes, it’s a perfect venue for hiking and we have asked our good friend Victor Lopez to help lead groups of hikers on different trails and up to the top of a few of our nearby peaks that offer breathtaking views of the coastline and San Quintin area.
You probably already know Victor by his nickname – El Rayo Ensenada – he’s a well known adventure camping guide here who became a local hero when he was the first rescuer to reach the Fox family after they became stranded high up on Picacho del Diablo back in 2017.

Mountain Biking
If you enjoy mountain biking, be sure to bring your bikes as the area has lots of great trails around the bay and volcanoes to enjoy and explore.
Even if you are new to the sport, we have invited a local MTB expert – Salvador Basurto – who will be at each weekend event with his bike riding family to help you learn more about the sport. On Saturday, they will invite all who are interested to join them in a 2 wheeled excursion around the area.

Many of you already know Salvador, owner of the very popular FASS Bike Shop located right on the east side of the highway in Colonia Vicente Guerrero.

Kayaking
Our main camping site fronts the bay’s wetlands which offer an incredible setting for exploring the wetland’s winding channels and bay by kayak.
It’s an incredibly popular activity for visitors to the area and there are kayak rentals available onsite if you don’t bring your own.

And so much more!
There’s lots to explore here around the volcanoes, coastline and sand dunes with tide pools framing in sandy beaches that are ideal for beachcombing, just hanging out or even trying your luck at the great surf fishing action this area is known for.
And if you’ve never tried your luck at surf fishing, we’ve even invited Daniel Powell as our special guest to offer some great tips on how to surf fish as well as a fishing from a kayak!

Evening Activities
On Friday night, we will offer a group campfire at the main campsite at Barra de Piedra if you wish to participate after gettiing your camp setup and had dinner.
For Saturday night we are planning a beach bonfire where we have invited a local musician to join us and entertain you. Be sure to bring some folding beach chairs and a jacket, as the evenings can get a bit cool here at night – even in summer. It should be an enjoyable evening to enjoy a Pacific sunset with some great fellowship.
Look forward to seeing you here!
