The forecast models seem to be coming into agreement this morning, now predicting for the two low pressure systems building off southern Mexico to likely merge into a single storm system that should develop into a tropical depression over the next 48 hours.

There remains some disagreement still beyond the next 48 hours as the GFS model is showing the system to meander a bit for another 24 to 48 hours off the southern Mexico coastline before moving northwest and passing just southwest off the southern tip of the Baja Peninsula sometime late Tuesday as a weak tropical cyclone.

The European model this morning is predicting for this developing system to develop a better defined concentric spin pattern more quickly and begin moving northwest, closer to the mainland and near the southern Baja gulf region where there is much warmer water before moving across the southern tip late Monday.

A lot can still change between then and now and it’s best to just get prepped and stay tuned…

    Today’s Weather Forecast

Along the Baja Pacific side today, expect for afternoon temperatures reaching up to 77 degrees around Ensenada, 80 in San Quintin, 79 in Guerrero Negro and up to 86 today around the Todos Santos area.

Down Baja’s gulf coastline this afternoon the high temps should reach up to 91 degrees for San Felipe, 92 in Bahia de Los Angeles, 94 in Mulege, 92 in Loreto and up to 95 in La Paz.

The Cabo San Lucas area should see up to a maximum of 88 degrees under mostly sunny skies with a light onshore breeze from the west later this afternoon.
