Great report @laguera – reminds me of my mom and how she would tightly manage the budget to enable all our great vacations we took back when we were kids. Loreto strikes me as one of those locations where you may not end up spending a lot of time inside your hotel room so finding a basic, safe and clean hotel at a lower cost is definitely one way to save yourself some money to pay for other trip and tour expenses.
