Those mentioned above are all good and I’ll add another we stopped at last time down, Adobe Guadalupe. It’s an iconic winery in the region and we are planning on staying there next trip to the area.

Looks pretty cool, so some of the wineries have hotels too? May need to rethink this a bit.

Be sure to stop by Monte Xanic, one of the best wines made in the Guadalupe Valley in my opinion. When we went we had to make a reservation, not sure if that was because of COVID or just their policy but make sure you check first.

Monte Xanic is one of my favorites too along with El Cielo which is actually a resort and spa on top of the winery. We have spent a couple of fantastic long weekends there.

FYI – Monte Xanic only does pre-booked tours but they are great for groups of friends traveling together. We always end up buying a couple of cases of wine each time we go.

Another option is to consider taking a wine tour which will take you to several different wineries so you don’t have to worry about getting lost or having a designated driver. This company does both public group tours as well as private tours. I went on one of their tours with a small group from work and it was amazing. They picked us up at our hotel in Ensenada and took us to 4 different wineries, one of which served us a really nice lunch spread with the wine tasting at one of the wineries. If this is your first time it might be the way to go, although it is a bit pricey.

Their public group tours are very reasonable at less than 100 dollars per person as I recall.

At nearly 1000 dollars for a couple, I’ll drive.

We thought about the private tour until we saw the prices so we went with the group tour and it was pretty good.

1000 dollars? Is it a Rolls Royce?
