King and Queen Cantina – Valle de Guadalupe

Hello to all in the forum – new member here so be nice!

We live in southern Orange County and up until now, our few excursions have been limited to Tijuana, Tecate and Ensenada. A coworker of my husband recently went to the Guadalupe Valley and had a great time at a place called King and Queen Cantina.

Anybody here been there before and can share an idea as to what we can expect in general, dress code and best route to get there coming in through north San Diego county?

    TIA

    Welcome to TalkBaja Amanda.

After a day riding dirt bikes, we stopped and dusted off as best we could and tried it out. We had drinks and appetizers and it was a bit pricey (norm for VdG) but a great experience. We were probably just a bit underdressed as most seemed to be in nice casual but I saw a few in flip flops. They have great menus and service and we are talking about going back and having dinner.

If you are planning to come on a weekend, I would cross at Tecate and come down that route which will help you avoid the weekend traffic and backup at the border and on the toll road.

I downloaded their menu if you or anybody else if interested. Have fun!

Wow – that was fast! Thank for the info and welcome! I like your idea the Tecate crossing route and we have never come down the Highway 3 before so it will be fun, for sure! When we get back I will give a full report to the forum.

I checked their Facebook page and it looks like they updated their hours a week ago, showing temporarily closed. 😕

They are closed? That sucks! They are not a long drive from where we hang – looks like a cool place.

Hubby is going to be disappointed but really appreciate the heads up.

I certainly hope the closing is only temporary (repairs/remodel). It’s on our top 10 list for places to eat in the Ensenada area.

I sent them an email and got no reply??? It’s not looking very hopeful.

That is seriously disappointing. We drove by there last time we were in Valle de Guadalupe and were looking forward to trying it out our next time. I looked at both their website and facebook page and there is no mention of anything?
