The simple answer to that question is… maybe.
Visitors meeting the following criteria DO NOT NEED TO PROCESS A MEXICAN VISA, as long as the length of their planned visit is less than 180 days.

    • American citizen
    • Canadian citizen
    • Lawful permanent residents and citizen from USA, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or any of the countries of the Schengen Area
    • Holders any kind of Valid Visa USA, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or any of the countries of the Schengen AreaFor further information on countries and regions that do not require a visa to travel to Mexico please visit the website of the National Migration Institute.

Even if a visa is not required, you MUST FILL OUT your MULTIPLE IMMIGRATION FORM (FMM), when first entering Mexico by land, sea or air. The FMM records your time spent as a visitor to Mexico and allows you to stay in the country for up to 180 days.
If you arrive into Mexico via a cruise ship or international airline, personnel aboard the vessel will give the FMM – sometimes called a Tourist Card – to fill out before offboarding. When driving into Mexico, it is your responsibility to stop and acquire your FMM, or get your entry stamped by immigration if you purchased the FMM online.
