Battle of the Titans over Global Satellite Internet

My brains telling me this is just a normal (and necessary) step of progress but my heart is wishing it could wait for another 30 or 40 years. We love to camp in some of Baja’s most remote deserts and coastal areas, frequently taking our scanning telescope on moonless weekends where we can search the clear, dark Baja sky for endless hours.

Somehow I don’t think it’s going to feel the same anymore with so many satellites in low orbit space. I had no idea they needed that many satellites to get the job done.

We’ll just have to see how good Elon really is at making those satellites.

    Hola

Can you please recommend the best cell phone carriers for Baja, primarily between San Felipe and Guerrero Negro, Bahia Concepcion area and La Paz/Tecolote areas? Gracias!

Telcel is overall the best down here although most of the areas outside of the populated cities won’t have service.

When we were last in Todos Santos (February 2023) we noticed that Starlink was widely available, quickly becoming the internet solution of choice for expat telecommuters and retirees alike.

Yeah, it’s catching on quickly here. We have it and it’s not only fast but highly dependable. I suggest that everybody contact Osiris at Satelite del Norte for their installs – great install as well as follow-up service.

Good to know, thanks. Does he offer mobile Starlink as well?
