If you haven’t stopped by Don Eddie’s in awhile, there has been a lot going on in recent months since the new owners – Eddie and Angelica Handley – bought the place earlier this year. New roofs, renovated rooms including all new beds, bedding and bathroom fixtures to go along with a renovated water and drain system, new tankless water heaters, upgraded electrical and an Airbnb suite with more being built.

A lot going on over at the restaurant and bar which the “new Eddie” promises to keep open, only closing on Mondays. Julio is back in the kitchen and it’s feeling like Don Eddie’s Landing is really back, in a big way!

I know a lot of fishermen that will be very happy to hear this.

Cristina and I are excited to have out favorite restaurant open again for breakfast on the bay!

Really looking forward to coming back down with my crew and stay at Don Eddies again. It was a tradition that we had given up on a couple of years ago as the place was just not maintained but we’ll be back next year for sure!

It’s a very special place in a beautiful location and was a shame to see it go downhill since Eddie died. Really glad to hear the place has some new owners and it sounds like they are invested into bringing it back. That’s a win-win for all of us and look forward to trying out the restaurant now. We’ll be back down in a couple of months with a group to try our luck at fishing.

My dad tells me he used to park his camper at Ernesto’s back in the late 70’s and 80’s.

Ernesto’s was the social centro of the Old Mill area for a long time.

We stayed there this summer and it’s great! It’s a second story, completely independent unit that has 4 double beds, a kitchen area, bath and a killer view of the bay and volcanoes. They are building a new one on their property right next door.
