Forgot to add – l don’t know whether this particular story is true or simply just from Jorge’s creative mind but I learned over the years in corresponding with him (we never met in person – my loss) that much of what he wrote was at least inspired in some actual facts, events or characters he crossed paths with in his years living down in La Ribera.

One of the things that amazed me about him was that I learned that a simple chance event that may have occurred in only a moment’s time could spur an entire story in his head.
