I live on Cape Cod and have learned to do the opposite of what the crowds do. When the tourists descend upon us like locusts around Memorial Day, we avoid restaurants and beaches and maintain a low profile until Labor Day. The months of September and October are my favorite time of year here, although there are many seasonal businesses that shut down when the last of the visitors cross back over the bridge.
