Posting for family friend;
Doug Smith has not made contact with family members since February 2023. He is a resident of Denver, Colorado. Last communication was of his intent to seek having dental work done in Mexico. Because of proximity and notoriety of popular for dental work, it is possible Doug was headed to Algodones, Mexico. Although with the amount of time passing, he may have decided to venture to other Baja locations. The family is exploring all possibilities as to Doug’s whereabouts and seeks help from anyone having possibly seen Doug.

Thanks for posting this @paranewbi – I’ll share on TalkBaja. If you have any more information about him / additional photos, year/make/model/color of vehicle, etc, that would help a lot. Is there any contact info for family or a news link?

Sorry to hear this about your friend. Do you know for sure that he drove down? Dentists in popular vacation stops further south like Acapulco, Puerto Vallarta and Cancun are also marketing the gringo market, offering vacation packages with dental work included.

More information would help. Is this normal behavior for this guy – just heading out and not staying in contact? I ask because of the lack of any established itinerary, just saying that he’s going to Mexico without any specific destination mentioned.

Doug was located and is reunited with family in Ohio. Out of respect for family, I can’t share extenuating circumstances… thank you for all concerns.
