Oh man, I can already hear the locals and residents along the border screaming…

Oh no! And I was going to fill up my Tahoe yesterday!

Or will this only apply to Tijuana and other right on the border cities? Not Ensenada maybe?

I believe (from what I read) that this will only affect cities alog the border, which as I recall is within something like 30 miles of the border. If that is true, then prices in Ensenada should remain the same. I’ll look around and see if I can confirm.

@laguera – looks like outside of 45 km (~28 MIles) you are okay…

      That’s a relief – thank you!

That really sucks for all the locals, but I get it.

Limiting the suspension to within 45 km of the border means that the station on the toll-road by the La Salina marina is outside of that suspended zone and will be able to sell the cheaper fuel. What do you bet half of Tijuana’s taxi drivers tomorrow will be lined up on that toll road exit, waiting in queue to fill up?

La Salina marina – that’s about a half hour south of Playas, right? That’s doable I guess. Worth it for a full tank in our truck.

Dang! And we were planning on crossing this week for lunch and a fill-up.

You still can. Have lunch in La Misión then drive a few more miles south to La Salina that is outside of the noted border zone and get the cheaper price.

The problem is that actually causes more economic pain to the people living in Mexico along the border. I really feel for those folks who are struggling, just trying to make a living and now this.

Even with the increased price, it’s still going to be a lot cheaper than SoCal right now.

That is quite true but it won’t keep all the folks in the border area from complaining about the price hike.
