Border area safe again? US Consulate thinks so…
With the cartel imposed curfew expiring and a massive police response patrolling the streets along Baja’s border cities and towns, the US Consulate rescinded their shelter in place alert for their personnel and U.S. citizens in the region.

Well, I don’t think the consulate is calling the area safe (and probably never will) but that’s good enough for me.

There were a couple of reports of minor stuff but based on everything I am reading, it looks like they think the worst is over. Not a big deal if you pay attention to whats going on and know when to go and when to wait.

Since this current Mexican administration under AMLO did away with the DEA group that Mexico had allowed to operate freely in Mexico last year, I wonder how good the intel is the that the US Embassy and their Consulates get down here now?
