Expect for some sizzling high temperatures today down the gulf and around the southern tip as we head into what are typically the hottest weeks of the year ahead where the seawater temps will continue to push upwards and with them, the potential for tropical storm activity and hurricanes.

The building low pressure mass sitting off southern Mexico continues to organize and pull in additional moisture, creating the potential for a large and powerful storm system in the days ahead. The NHC is predicting this system will form into a Tropical Depression in the coming hours and is expected to quickly develop into a Tropical Cyclone with a projected path that currently runs quite similar to the track taken by Frank in recent days.
