Warmer water coming to a Baja beach near you…

Music to my ears! Got my tuna sticks all prepped and ready and just dreaming about landing a monster like one of these lucky bastards hauled over the rail!

Very nice! I have never landed one even close to that size but can only imagine how much work it must take to haul one of those cows in. Where are you going fishing?

Right now I am just watching the water temps ( thanks @BajaGringo ) and waiting to hear the latest catch reports. I could go out of San Diego, Ensenada, maybe San Quintin or even parts further south. It’s wait & see!

Smart move as the action has been at diff spots up until now.

If we don’t go surfing then maybe we’ll try our luck at fishing. 2 of my buds are avid fishermen and keep threatening to haul my ass out on a boat.

I know several surfers who love to fish. They tell me they learned to fish in the hours and days between waiting for the waves to come in. Having spent a lot of time checking out their skills, I’d say that most of them spent a lot more time fishing than surfing. 😆

I just checked the latest fish count from H&M Landing and this afternoon only two boats appear to have found tuna (yellowfin) with most of the boats reporting good yellowtail and dorado action.

I have been hearing some talk from my friends who surf, evaluating whether to take some days off to head down and catch the surge from Frank. What do you think?

I keep hearing that as well but looking at the hard data so far, I am seeing a swell but nothing epic that would indicate a long road trip would be justified. But that could change as Frank evolves – stay tuned.

Yeah, I got that same vibe when I checked on StormSurf. I told them to hold onto their money and wait for a better storm surge next month.

As the hurricanes get closer our Baja travel plans move farther north. We had one trip ruined by a tropical storm, never again.

I hear you – it sucks to spend a lot of money on travel only to have the weather completely destry your plans. It’s frustrating and expensive. You’ve got lots of good options north of the 28th parallel to choose from.

We also had taken time off work to go – double whammy!

I never really understand how warmer water automatically makes a hurricane stronger?

Warm water is like gasoline to the hurricanes engine and the warmer the water, more warm water vapor is generated and helps intensify the hurricane. I gave a brief explanation in the article:
