500 AM PDT Wed Aug 3 2022For the eastern North Pacific…east of 140 degrees west longitude:
Active Systems: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on Tropical Depression Georgette, located more than 1000 miles west-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula.
1. Offshore of Southern Mexico: A tropical wave is producing a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms over Central America and the adjacent waters. The wave is forecast to move west and an area of low pressure is expected to form south of southern Mexico within the next couple of days. Environmental conditions appear conducive for subsequent development, and a tropical depression is likely to form late this week or over the weekend. The system is forecast to turn west-northwestward over the weekend into early next week, remaining well offshore of the coast of southern Mexico.

* Formation chance through 5 days…high…90 percent.2. Well Southeast of the Main Hawaiian Islands: Another area of low pressure could form over the far western portion of the eastern Pacific basin later this week. Some gradual development of this system is possible over the weekend or early next week while it moves westward toward the central Pacific basin.

Along the Baja Pacific side today, expect for afternoon temperatures reaching up to 80 degrees again around Ensenada, 82 in San Quintin, 81 in Guerrero Negro and up to 87 again today around the Todos Santos area.
Down Baja’s gulf coastline it’s going to be a hot one today with up to 96 degrees for San Felipe, 94 in Bahia de Los Angeles, 93 in Mulege, 94 in Loreto and up to 99 this afternoon around La Paz.
The Cabo San Lucas area should see up to a maximum of 89 degrees under sunny skies with an onshore breeze from the west this afternoon providing some relief.
