    Today’s Weather Conditions

The cold northerly winds will diminish today down the Gulf of California but a new cold front moving in across the northern border tonight will bring a wave of strong N to NW winds that are being fed by a high pressure system building over the Great Basin a few hundred miles to the north that will push more cold wind down the Gulf of California through Thursday.

The cold front will also be pushing a new set of NW swells off the northern Baja Pacific coastline beginning tonight.

Mostly clear skies down the peninsula this afternoon with some afternoon clouds building in the northwest and near the southern tip.

Along the Baja Pacific side the afternoon high temperatures will only reach up to 64 degrees around Ensenada, 68 in the San Quintin Valley region with 69 in Guerrero Negro and up to 75 around the Todos Santos area.

Down Baja’s gulf coastline this afternoon expect for 67 degrees in San Felipe, 70 for Bahia de Los Angeles, 72 in Mulege, 71 for Loreto and up to 73 in La Paz this afternoon.

The Cabo San Lucas area should see up to a maximum of 76 degrees under mostly sunny skies with a light breeze from the south-southwest later this afternoon.

Seems so weird to see warmer temps along the Pacific side this time of year. Bet you more than one snow bird is rethinking their decision to winter along the Sea of Cortez about right now.

This pattern of cold wind down the gulf should continue through later this week but it looks like things should improve just a bit starting in February.
