A group of armed individuals broke into the Ramona Beach RV Park in the El Sauzal area of Ensenada early last Monday morning, beating a 65 year old resident of the RV park before taking his SUV and a motorcycle before fleeing.
The Ensenada Municipal Police report that the crime was called in at 05:35 AM from the Ramona Beach RV Park, located just off the federal Transpeninsular highway in the El Sauzal area of Ensenada, just north of the Ensenada urban area.
Six men arrived at the RV camp in two vehicles, attempting to steal the SUV that was parked at the camp.
The vehicle owner came outside and tried to stop the men but was beaten with a handgun where he collapsed and was left bleeding. His attackers took his keys and left with his SUV that also had his wallet, some cash, a cell phone and other personal items inside.
Various patrol cars from the municipal police department responded to the 911 call and at the scene took the report of the armed robbery from the victim who suffered a cut from the blow to his head with a gun with his wounds being attended to by paramedics who responded from the Ensenada Fire Department.
It wasn’t until the police arrived that the victim realized that his attackers had also taken his motorcycle in the robbery, as was seen later in security video images being carried out of the camp in the back of one the pickup trucks used by the assailants.
The security camera at the site recorded the victim’s desperate cries for help as well as images of the assailants fleeing the scene aboard two pickup trucks – one carrying the stolen motorcycle – in addition to the stolen SUV.
The two pickups along with the stolen SUV were last seen heading north on the Transpeninsular highway.
The items stolen are described as a white 2011 Land Rover and a 2013 KTM motorcycle in addition to some cash and other personal effects.
To date, no suspects have been arrested.
